PILATES and lifestyle w/ and emphasis on food and DRINK

Surviving the heat wave in LA, in October.

Morning light in K-town.

October is usually the time of year that we start pulling out our comfy sweaters, our favorite pair of jeans and slip into our cutest boots. If you live in Los Angeles, all of those amazing things will not happen until maybe December, perhaps even later. Today, a week before Halloween, it was a high of 84 degrees. I had a fair amount of boob sweat just walking to my car from work.

If LA is going to give me summer in the fall then I might as well be taking advantage of it. I am sure the grass is always greener. Hot yoga classes at Modo Yoga keep me feeling like I’m working for my bikini body. My fridge is stocked full of champagnes, white wines and Sierra Nevada Old Chicos like I could have a Fourth of July Party at any moment.

But, part of me is so ready for even the slightest glimpse of a seasonal change. A little cold breeze, a cloudy day or dare I say it, a temperature below 75. Tonight I will heat my house up with my oven. A chili and cornbread dish (per request of Andrew) will be sure to turn my currently 80 degree apartment to a toasty 85 degrees.
